Creative Wealth Funds

A permanent fund for the culture of a place.

A Creative Wealth Fund is a long-term investment fund established for one region. It holds a share of the value that region’s culture creates, on behalf of the community that creates it, and it carries the region’s name.

Infrastructure and artistry

A fund invests in the infrastructure of creative life and in its artistry. It backs the places where work is made, from venues and studios to artist housing and space to exhibit and perform. Alongside private partners, it invests in productions and creative enterprises that choose to make their work in the region.

It also invests in the stories rooted in the region’s history and its people, in film and series, documentary, games and writing, and in the local creators and businesses that tell them. Creators keep majority ownership of their work.

Where the returns go

Because a fund is permanent, it can stay with a work or a career for as long as it keeps growing. When that value grows, a share comes back to the region.

Part of it is reinvested, so that each success funds the next place and the next maker. Part supports the region’s cultural programs, alongside its existing arts budget. Creators share in the long-term value their work creates, and the community whose lives inspired the work shares in what it becomes.

Shaped by each region

Creative Wealth works with governments and cultural agencies to establish a fund for their region. We bring the model and the charter, and the region brings its culture and its ambition.

The work begins with a conversation in which we learn the region’s creative life and its priorities, and it proceeds at the invitation of the region’s public partner. Together we shape the fund around the region’s own culture and law, and it opens with public and private partners alongside.

Your region already has the resource. It has simply lacked the vehicle.

One charter, powered by PNAQL

Every Creative Wealth Fund follows one charter, held by Creative Wealth, so that what one region learns, the next can use. Every fund is powered by PNAQL, the market infrastructure that lets a fund offer open, listed instruments, so capital can flow into the region’s culture and, in time, many more people can share in it.

We host sessions with governments, cultural agencies, foundations and researchers, in confidence, on the model and on what establishing a fund would involve for their region.
